How the International Franchise Association Helped More Than 64,000 Vets Get Back to Work

Your kids may look at Veteran's Day as just another day off from school, but in this day and age, we can’t ignore the huge sacrifice the military makes for us every day. The least we could do is help them get a job when they get back from putting their lives on the line for us.

Since 2011, the International Franchise Association (IFA) has helped put more than 64,880 veterans back to work, and they aren’t even close to being finished.  President and CEO of the IFA Steve Caldeira explained the plan for Operation Enduring Opportunity.

“Our board got together, and we tossed around a lot of ideas and we said, ‘You know what? We’re going to commit to hiring 75,000 veterans, military spouses and 5,000 wounded warriors by the end of 2014.’”

He added, “ We believe veterans are good for franchising and franchising is good for veterans, and most importantly, veterans are great for this country and we need to find work for them.”

The Mission:

‘You’re hired!’ There is no greater way for a business to say thank you to our courageous servicemen and women than providing them with a job.  The mission of Helping Heroes Work is to raise awareness for the responsibility we all share in helping our returning veterans begin this next critical phase in their lives.
