Beer Company Created By a Veteran to Employ Veterans

One small business is helping to employ America’s veterans. The Veteran Beer Company was started by Paul Jenkins, a retired Navy pilot. Every employee from the brewmaster in Minnesota to the delivery guy has served in the military.

The unemployment rate among veterans is 20 percent and for disabled vets it’s at 88 percent.

CEO Paul Jenkins said, “That was the idea – just come up with a company that could employ as many veterans as possible, as quickly as possible.”

The beers themselves express patriotism with the names Blonde Bomber Ale and Veteran Lager.

Jenkin’s hopes his message will spread to other employers. “I want the private sector to realize that the U.S. military veteran is the greatest human resource in this country.”

The Mission:

‘You’re hired!’ There is no greater way for a business to say thank you to our courageous servicemen and women than providing them with a job.  The mission of Helping Heroes Work is to raise awareness for the responsibility we all share in helping our returning veterans begin this next critical phase in their lives.
